| Polar Power, Inc. is meeting the
challenges in the Telecommunications industry by providing new and comprehensive solutions
to electrical power, environmental control, and shelter configurations. Polar has
developed a DC generator system that meets requirements for increased reliability, reduced
maintenance, and fuel efficiency.
Polars generator solution is a complete system consisting of a brushless DC
alternator, a gas or diesel engine, filters to separate sand, rain, snow and insects from
incoming air, microprocessor control, modem interface for remote control and reporting,
and a sound attenuated enclosure.
COST EFFECTIVE:
- Up to 80% savings in fuel.
Polars DC alternator is 15-20% more efficient than competing generators,
allowing smaller engines and less fuel.
Polars DC generator is variable speed, saving 20-40% in fuel.
DC design saves in conversion losses from AC to DC
Very low system maintenance.
RELIABLE:
Directly connects to battery bank eliminating the transfer switch.
- DC output backs up rectifiers and battery chargers.
- At lower electrical loads-engine reduces speed for longer life.
- Polars DC alternator has no brushes, slip rings, bearings, excitors or
rotating electrical elements. Precise voltage regulation is made across a wide speed
range; electronic governors are not required on the engine.
APPLICATIONS:
Utility Backup
- In prime power applications Polars DC generator, coupled with a battery
bank, offer a continuous, uninterruptible power supply. The DC generator operates (for
example) 4-6 hours a day charging the battery. The battery then provides 24 hour power.
AIR CONDITIONING:
To meet site cooling requirements, Polar has developed:
Airgen System--Provides a co-generation of air conditioning and DC power.
One engine drives both the refrigeration compressor and the DC alternator.
- DC Powered Air Conditioner--Variable capacity using high efficiency brushless DC
motors.
- Ambient Air Cooling--Consists of a two-stage low maintenance air filter, a
variable speed brushless DC blower, and a temperature control. This is the most cost
effective means of site cooling where clean ambient air is used to cool equipment.
